Lelo launches Design Award 2013 initiative

Lelo has announced the latest initiative in its ’10 Years of Pleasure’ anniversary celebrations: the Lelo Design Award 2013 is an invitation to designers and artists worldwide to create product and design concepts that reveal new possibilities for pleasure across a variety of fields.

With Lelo products already catering to the senses of sight and touch, the Lelo Design Award is being offered for groundbreaking products or experiences that tackle the lesser used senses such as smell, hearing and taste across two separate award categories: Fashion & Accessories or Products & Spaces. Judges include Lelo CEO Miroslav Slavic and art director Sila Songkran, eminent design duo Lanzavecchia + Wai and award-winning film director Erika Lust.

The competition is currently being advertised and promoted in top international design schools across four continents and Lelo has introduced a dedicated awards section on its website complete with video to pique designers’ creative inspiration. Applicants should submit their work by August 1st, with the five best projects to be exhibited at October’s London Design Week, as well as on Lelo’s homepage where more than 100,000 visitors will see it.

Lelo CEO Miroslav Slavic said: “Sleek, sophisticated design has been part of Lelo’s DNA since we started our mission 10 years ago. We’re now thrilled to help redefine the future of pleasure by giving up-and-coming designers the chance to present their original design concepts on a global stage.”

Applicants interested in participating in the LELO Design Award 2013 are asked to visit www.lelo.com/awards to pre-register.
