Retail chain Nice ‘n’ Naughty ran a Halloween window display competition between its shops in October. Each store applied its own take on the Halloween theme, and the results varied enormously, as Philip Price, Nice ‘n’ Naughty Area Manager for Lancashire, explained: “The talent that the Nice ‘n’ Naughty team have when creating their individual windows is remarkable, and every window was a tour de force in its own right. We had windows ranging from a butcher’s chop shop, to dismembered mannequins stored in glass sweet jars, and from a graveyard with rising corpse, to a fairy glen! To have to choose a winner is never an easy task, but the team at the Wigan store won with their rather gruesome butcher’s window, complete with plenty of gore, and a mannequin dressed only in a blood splattered apron, which seemed to catch everyone’s eye who was passing by!”
National Retail Manager Richard Allmark doubled the prize amount to £200 for the winning window entry, and £50 to the 10 other runners up, after the store managers suggested that the initial prize money should be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness. Richard said: “Fantastic team spirit, nice idea, and a worthy cause. I want to recognise the team’s generosity so the original amount will go to Breast Cancer, and the extra amount will ensure the team are still rewarded and able to go out on Nice ‘n’ Naughty and have a great night out together.”
The stores are now competing to create the best Christmas windows.
