Lingerie distributor Alterego has reported that 2017 was a big year for Shirley of Hollywood’s Hot collection, and the firm has significantly increased its stockholding of the range after only holding part of it in previous years.
Alterego’s operations director Gareth Laycock commented: “This year’s Hot collection has gone bonkers. The demand has significantly grown this year, and just due to the ongoing demand we have taken much more product into stock. This also has the knock-on effect that there are a whole lot of new lines available for our dropship service. Model X622 (pictured) is especially popular, and Shirley of Hollywood really do produce some fabulous garments – the quality is superb and the prices are far better than some people imagine. We also find that the larger sizes sell particularly well. I think some brands just make a garment larger and call it an XXXL, but Shirley takes care to size and fit its products properly, so when a customer buys a larger size, it has been designed and engineered to genuinely be a ‘proper’ larger size. Evidently, this works, as we get loads of repeat business from happy Shirley of Hollywood customers.”
Trade customers can also expect an enhanced service from Alterego during the busy Christmas and Valentine period, according to Gareth. He explained: “We have just signed a great new contract with DPD, enhancing our delivery options and allowing our customers to control their own deliveries, giving them ultimate control over times of deliveries, and even one-hour delivery windows and Sunday deliveries. Ultimately, if we can support our retail customers through offering top class customer service, they will do better business, so we will both grow together – it’s a philosophy that’s very important to us.”
