The Adult Shop, of Friargate, Preston, has been giving away a sample porn DVD for each medal won by Team GB at the London Olympics. Simon Gordon, who is manager at the store, admits that he had not expected Great Britain’s champions to do quite so well – having won 24 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze medals already, with three days yet to go, totalling a staggering 51 medals so far – but said the effort has been a great success.
Advertised with a poster in the window display, Gordon has been running the promotion since the tournament began, offering a free video to all customers, with no purchase necessary.
“When people come in they get a free sample DVD and if they return it when they’ve watched it, they can get any other DVD half price. It’s one per person,” Gordon told the Lancashire Evening Post. “It’s just a bit of fun really. While the Olympics were on, we thought it might be pretty quiet; so this is getting people to come through the door and it can help business in future if they come back to choose another DVD. And because it’s gone so well we’ve decided we’re going to extend the offer to the Paralympic Games as well.”
The London Paralympics open on August 29 and run until September 9.
