Starline Lingerie has unveiled its new trade-only website, which showcases the company’s burlesque and retro costumes, luxury loungewear and its autumn and Gothica Fever collections.
The launch of the new trade website is part of Starline Lingerie’s plan to promote its brand, Wild Rose, to other retailers. The company, which also took stands at July’s ETO Show and last month’s Venus, began five years ago as a retailer in London’s Camden Lock. After two years sourcing standard products company founder Star Rivera created her own designs and took them to the Harrogate Lingerie Show.
“It was my first trade show and I had no experience of how to set up, presentation or anything,” said Star. “I was terrified to find international lingerie brands there like CK, Myla, Laperla, Lejaby etc. I was also shocked at how big their stands were, how they did presentations with models waiting for clients to see the actual fitting! My goodness… I wanted to go back home and felt so embarrassed of my three square metre stand that I was sharing, the black satin backcloth, wooden hangers and string to hang them! I couldn’t believe I would attract a single client and had already accepted that this would just be a lesson on how to prepare for a trade show. To my surprise, I got 15 orders in the three days. Thinking back, I think a good price, new designs and lessons learned from Camden on how to relate to the customer face to face helped. Now, we are busy packing boxes every day to distribute to different places, mainly in Europe.”
