Motörhead rocks up LIMA, Lovehoney clocks up another award

Lovehoney will need to clear more space in its trophy cabinet after winning another award last week. The Bath-based firm was named Best Health and Beauty Licensee for its Motörhead Official Pleasure Collection at the 2016 LIMA Licensing Awards, which took place in Las Vegas on June 21st. LIMA (the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association) was formed in 1985 and has offices in New York, London, Munich, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Melbourne. It describes itself as the leading trade organisation for the global licensing industry, with a mission is to foster the growth and expansion of licensing around the world, raise the level of professionalism for licensing practitioners, and create greater awareness of the benefits of licensing to the business community at large.

Lovehoney’s co-founder Neal Slateford said: “We’re thrilled to have won such a prestigious award in the world of licensing. It’s the second year in a row that Lovehoney has won a LIMA Award, and further proof that we are the go-to people for brands looking to break into the pleasure product market.”

The Motörhead Official Pleasure Collection was up against the likes of Pearl World’s Paris Hilton Cosmetic Collection and Hall & Associates Limited’s Shopkins hair accessories line.

Slateford added: “I think I can say with some certainty that this is the first time Motörhead have shared a line-up with Paris Hilton – rock ’n’ roll!”

Lovehoney secured the exclusive worldwide licence to manufacture Motörhead sex toys in 2015 and the range is made up of four bullets and classic torpedo shaped vibes, all decorated with the band’s logo and branding. The range won EAN magazine’s Highest Mainstream Appeal award in 2015.
