In recognition of April being Wicked Sensual Care supports Sexual Assault Awareness Month with Simply Aqua Special Edition, Wicked Sensual Care is once again donating a portion of the proceeds from sales of its Simply Aqua Special Edition to a relevant charity. This year it is Tending The Garden, a charitable organisation dedicated to helping marginalised sexual assault survivors in their quest for community, healing, education, and personal growth.
Wicked Sensual Care cites statistics published by the National Sexual Violence Resource Centre, stating nearly half of all transgender individuals have experienced sexual assault at some point in their lives, with rates significantly higher among trans people of colour, individuals engaged in sex work, those experiencing homelessness, or those with disabilities.
Wicked is encouraging its retailers and distributors to support its initiative. Simply Aqua Special Edition was launched in September 2021 in order to support LGBTQ+ communities throughout the year by donating a portion of sales to the charitable organisations serving them. To date, over $50,000 has been contributed to the Marsha P Johnson Institute, the Trevor Project, Trans Lifeline, Trans Santa, Black and Pink, Immigration Equality, and others to promote equal rights and support for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex people.
