Xcite Books used the Frankfurt Book Fair to launch its latest innovative product, an interactive Kama Sutra. It uses smartphone mobile technology to reveal 3D naked hologram illustrations, bringing the centuries’ old sex manual into the 21st century.
The spiral-bound book contains 69 illustrated positions combined with written descriptions and discreet diagrams. The big reveal comes when the reader views the pages through the free smartphone and tablet apps, which accompany the book, and each image appears to pop out of the page allowing the viewer to appreciate the position from all angles. Priced at £4.99 it is aimed at the ‘Secret Santa’ and Christmas stocking filler market.
The free Kama Xcitra apps even allows users to customise the look of the models: changing hair, skin and eye colour to make it a more personal experience.
Xcite Books MD Hazel Cushion said: “Xcite Books has gained an excellent reputation for enhancing readers’ sex lives by publishing books that celebrate sexuality in all its forms and helping them gain body confidence. This book takes that to a whole new level using state-of-the-art technology to help couples explore interesting sexual positions. We hope it will be the first of many interactive book/app packages to provide more lively digital content to accompany our erotic fiction.”
Kama Xcitra contains 144 pages and it will be published on 6th December.
