Webcam positions under fire

Job Centre ads for nude webcam operators are coming under attack following a BBC report that a student was “amazed and disgusted” that two Welsh Job Centre Plus branches were promoting them.

The student, who is studying for a masters degree in heritage management, added that she found this: “sad, pitiful and depressing,” adding: “It is just bonkers in this day and age when we are encouraging safety for children on the Internet, to come across job adverts like this.”

The Department for Work and Pensions insisted it must carry the offers, following a legal ruling in 2003 – instigated by Ann Summers, if our memory serves us correctly.

Those thinking of applying for the ‘over 18s only’ webcam jobs just need an Internet-ready computer and a webcam and the position pays £10 an hour with 50% commission.
