Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, has confirmed that users in the United Kingdom can once again access the platform on Apple devices, provided they have completed Apple’s UK age-verification process that comes with its new update.
In a statement, VP of Brand and Community Alex Kekesi reiterated the company’s long-standing position on age assurance: “For years, Aylo has advocated for device-based age verification as the most effective and privacy-protecting approach to help prevent minors from accessing age-inappropriate content online.” She added that Apple’s rollout with iOS 26.4 marks “the world’s first-ever device-based age verification solution” at scale and “a major first step toward a global solution.”
Aylo had previously implemented age assurance measures to comply with the UK’s Online Safety Act (OSA), but withdrew access to its platforms earlier in 2026, citing concerns about the framework. With Apple’s account-level verification now in place, the company considers the system robust enough to support re-entry into the market.
Kekesi described the development as “a huge step,” adding, “We believe this is the path forward.” She also emphasised that Apple’s ecosystem-based approach allows age verification to occur without requiring users to share personal data directly with websites, creating what she called “a much more seamless experience.”
The UK marks the first market where Aylo has restored access after previously withdrawing services due to age-verification concerns. Kekesi underscored the significance of the move, stating: “This is the first time we are effectively coming back to a market because we have a solution that, in our view, permits us to do that in the safest way possible. This is a really exciting day.”
At this stage, access has been reinstated only for Pornhub, with other Aylo-owned platforms expected to follow as part of a phased rollout.
