Pleasure tech stack TickleLife has launched what it describes as the first sex positive and censorship-free payment gateway for the sexual wellbeing and sextech industry. The form says that what makes TickleCharge unique is it is the only payment gateway created for an industry which has been de-platformed, censored, and rejected multiple times for payment integration into other platforms.
TickleCharge says it will cater to anyone from the sexual wellbeing an sextech industry, whether they are a sex educator, doctor, sex therapist, coach, or entrepreneur. Founder Shakun Sethi [pictured] said: “Being from the sexual wellbeing industry for more than two years and a user ourselves, TickleLife encountered multiple roadblocks in the payments front while engaging with users from across the world. We realised that a major component of the services provided would be incomplete unless payment stability is created, hence the birth of TickleCharge.”
TickleCharge will function primarily in the North American market but will take merchants on case-to-case basis from across the world, except in sanctioned countries.
The new payment gateway can receive and hold in more than 20 currencies, and it is said to be easily integrated with multiple platforms. Merchant account codes are given according to the services provided, as opposed to a blanket high-risk category code, and a robust merchants’ verification process is in place to ensure no de-platforming later.
The company said: “This payment gateway will help with the discoverability issue that the sexual wellbeing industry faces. Every year approximately more than $1.15 Bn is lost due to payment censorship.”
TickleCharge says its new service will not only to streamline the industry but also help to eradicate the taboo label it has acquired.
