Tenga SVR and Iroha+ Series receive Red Dot Awards

Tenga has announced that its SVR and Iroha+ Series have both received the 2017 Red Dot Award for Product Design. The Tenga SVR (Smart Vibe Ring) is a multi-speed vibrating ring which is rechargeable, waterproof, and designed to stay in place during use without causing discomfort to the user. The Iroha+ Series is made up of three organic shapes that explore the concept of three types of stimulation –tickling, tracing, and nipping –and which contain features, including precise tips and textured ridging, designed to enhance these sensations.

Manufacturers and designers from 54 different countries submitted over 5,500 products in the 2017 Red Dot competition, and they were assessed by a jury of around 40 independent designers, design professors and specialist journalists. Professor Dr Peter Zec, founder and CEO of the Red Dot Award, said: “The Red Dot winners are pursuing the right design strategy. They have recognised that good design and economic success go hand in hand. The award by the critical Red Dot jury documents their high design quality and is indicative of their successful design policy.”

The Red Dot Award will be presented during a glamorous awards ceremony in July in Germany. The best of the best laureates will accept their trophies in front of around 1,200 guests. At the subsequent after-show party ‘Designers’ Night’, the winners will receive their certificates and celebrate until the early hours in the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen in the midst of the prize-winning products. All award-winning products will be presented in the special exhibition Design On Stage for four weeks, before becoming part of the permanent exhibition.
