As a retailer, you probably have a fair idea how popular pleasure products are, but a new survey from UK toy brand Rocks Off shows that more than a third of respondents own more than 10 sex toys, with some participants owning more than 20.
The survey of just over 1,200 people in the UK (aged 18 and over) asked respondents on a scale of one to five whether toys improved their sex lives – the average score given was of 4.7 out of 5. Nearly half said they use a toy at least once a week, and several said they used toys daily. The main reasons given for using sex toys were improving pleasure, enhancing solo sessions, and keeping partnered sex exciting.
The top toy among respondents was a clit-sucker, although the question “What would you use if you didn’t have a sex toy?” elicited replies including “vegetables” and “the washing machine”.
When asked about key features of toys, respondents wanted a good girth (63 percent), waterproofing (15 percent) and strong vibration (10 percent).
Rocks Off sales director Sham Galoria said: “The responses were fun, honest and full of personality. Sex toys are now part of everyday pleasure for a lot of people, and that’s something to celebrate.”
