Simply Pleasure’s calendar girls (and boy)

Members of staff from Team South West of adult retail chain Simply Pleasure have got together under the direction of Laura Hazeldine (Torquay branch and Miss March – pictured left) to create a 2014 calendar, the proceeds of which will be donated to The Terrence Higgins Trust.

The charity was set up by friends and relatives of Terry Higgins, who died with AIDS in 1982, and over the last 30 years it has helped thousands of people living with HIV.

Laura Hazeldine commented: “This calendar I have produced on behalf of Simply Pleasure is something I am incredibly proud to have done and be a part of. The idea came to me last year but I had left it too late to arrange everything in time. So I took the bull by the horns early this year and asked my work colleagues if they would participate and they all jumped at the chance. I made numerous phone calls, firstly to The Terrence Higgins Trust to obtain their permission, then it was finding a photographer who would kindly dedicate his time and work free of charge. My hairdresser gave up his day off to style and create our hair with amazing results and finally it was the printers, who kindly donated the work and time totally free of charge.

“We all met on Sunday 4th August at the photographers, resulting in the team travelling  from all over the south west to the location on their valued day off. I am so very thankful to everyone involved especially my work colleagues who I am so proud of. Without their time, dedication and involvement this would never had happened. The Terrence Higgins Trust is close to all our hearts and it does incredible work to promote safe sex. With us producing this calendar at least we can raise some money for them to change some people’s lives for the better.”

The calendars are on sale in Simply Pleasure stores and cost £10 each.
