Roam claims a ‘world first’ with Skin Tone Condoms

Roam has launched what it claims is a world first in the condom sector: Skin Tone Condoms. Coming in four tones, a pack of 12 will retail for £15 when the product hits the market on 17th April. They can be purchased from Amazon, Boots, Superdrug and direct from www.exploreroam.com

The launch announcement states: “The brand’s newest innovation disrupts the industry, prioritising inclusivity with intersectionality at the heart of everything it does, Roam’s Skin Tone Condoms aim to tackle the unmet needs of consumers with condoms that – feel more you.”

The condoms are said to be made from 100% natural ingredients and use 40% less plastic than traditional condom foils. They were developed in partnership with multicultural research agency Word on the Curb.

To improve accessibility and support contraception usage, for every Skin Tone Condom purchased Roam says it will give a condom back (Buy 1 Give 1) in partnership with Brook, the UK’s leading sexual health and wellbeing charity, helping to unlock contraception access in communities where sex is more stigmatised.

A spokesperson from Roam said: “Roam has been built to end the stigma and shame in shopping for sex for everyone. Legacy brands have failed to address nuanced needs of all sexually active communities. The launch of our Skin Tone Condoms presents a choice that has never existed before, one that celebrates individuality. Designed to be the perfect balance between sensation and safety to protect your pleasure and community.”
