‘Revealing images’ removed

The Pulse and Cocktails chain has removed billboards advertising its Tyneside store after being reminded that promoting the store anywhere other than on the shop unit itself is a breach of its licence. Local reports also mention that drivers were distracted by the model featured in the ads, which were on the A695 in Blaydon, Gateshead, and that parents had criticised the posters for exposing their children to “revealing images”.

A spokesperson for the chain told the Evening Chronicle: “We have 23 stores nationwide and we run similar billboards at the majority of these locations. We were totally unaware we were in breach of any licence conditions and as a result of this coming to our attention, and in order to keep the peace, we instructed for these billboards to come down as soon as possible.”
