Pleasure products and people on the box tonight

Ann Summers 'O Team' stars in new Channel 4 documentary

The pleasure products sector is particularly well represented on mainstream UK television tonight with two programmes lifting the lid on various aspects of the industry. First up is Happy Families, a new documentary series on ITV at 9pm. It features Melissa Macfarlane, owner and founder of online retailer Voluptasse.co.uk, talking about her reasons for setting up the company and explaining how she balances her running the site alongside her writing in a busy household which includes five children.

Following immediately afterwards at 10pm on Channel 4, Sex Toy Stories features Ann Summers’ ‘O Team’ [pictured] as they help to develop a new range of sex toys for the retail chain. The film follows the progress of the project from the original design pitches right through to the launch of the final products. If you were at the ETO Show last June you might have seen a film crew following a group of women – this was them, though we don’t know how much footage of the event (if any) will be shown the programme.

Jacqueline Gold, Ann Summers CEO, said: “The Sex Toy Story has been such an exciting project for Ann Summers and a unique journey for each of the women selected to be part of our panel. I am very proud of the results that the team have produced and can’t wait to hear what our customers think of the O Team range.”
