Penthouse has joined forces with Cleis Press to present the first in a series of erotic books curated by the editors of Penthouse Variations. ‘Penthouse Variations on Oral: Erotic Stories of Going Down’ features almost two dozen short stories by established authors in the genre as well as its brightest up-and-comers.
Established in 1978, Penthouse Variations is the publishing arm of the iconic Penthouse brand – part of FriendFinder Networks Inc. – which publishes an alluring combination of erotic fiction and reader letters with a focus on experimentation and adventure. ForeWord Reviews’ ‘Publisher of the Year’, Cleis Press, focuses on intelligent books in several genres including fiction, mystery, romance, erotica, LGBTQ studies, sex guides, pulp fiction and memoir.
“Penthouse and Cleis Press share a long history of publishing premier adult fiction,” Penthouse Variations executive editor Barbara Pizio said of the pairing. “This series builds upon those decades of experience, offering stories that will continue to inspire and excite our fans.”
At once couples-friendly and intensely personal, some stories are tender and loving, some are dripping with lust, but they all appeal to a variety of erotic tastes. Future volumes will focus on themes such as female submission and bondage, among others, according to the press release.
“I’ve read all of Penthouse’s titles since college,” Cleis Press publisher, Brenda Knight, said. “Their articles and fiction helped form my sensibility and developed my eye for erotic excellence.”
‘Penthouse Variations on Oral: Erotic Stories of Going Down’ is available in print editions, from bookstores, and in multiple online and digital platforms for enjoyment on Kindle, Nook, iTunes, Kobo and other e-readers. It will be distributed to brick-and-mortar bookstores by Publishers Group West in the USA and Turnaround in the UK.
