A YouGov survey conducted in Germany on behalf of Orion Wholesale has revealed that 33% of people have given an adult product as a Christmas gift at least once, with lingerie being chosen more often than sex toys. Far more men than women have given such a gift though one surprising fact to emerge from the survey is that adult products are a more common gift in households with children than in households without them.
The survey was conducted among 2031 adults during August 2019 and it also revealed that 85% of men and 84% of women would be happy to receive a sex toy as a Christmas gift. Orion says that men frequently buy sex toys that are too big however, and that women are more likely to want a smaller product that will fit in a handbag.
Other findings from Orion’s research suggest that 70% of women like to wear sexy lingerie because it makes them feel erotic and sensual, while 31% said it gives them more self-confidence, and 90% of men said it was important or very important that their partner wears sexy lingerie. Women’s favourite lingerie colour is black, followed by red, while men are not bothered what colour their partner wears. Finally, 64% of men would be happy to receive a gift of sexy lingerie themselves.
