Nice ‘n’ Naughty – an apology

In an article in the May/June edition of ETO, we extensively quoted Trish Murray, owner of Nice ‘n’ Naughty and founder of Be A Lady UK. It has since been brought to our attention that some of the quotes attributed to Trish were either inaccurately reported or not reflective of her actual words, nor the ethos of Nice ‘n’ Naughty or Be A Lady UK.

We would like to make it clear that Trish and her team do not use or endorse the term “bimbo”. Its inclusion in the article was inaccurate and does not align with the inclusive, non-judgemental and professional values that underpin both businesses.

Be A Lady UK is a supportive and discreet service created specifically for crossdressers and individuals exploring their gender identity. It is a space built on respect, understanding and empowerment, not stereotype or sensationalism.

Furthermore, we acknowledge that the wholesale opportunities offered by Nice ‘n’ Naughty cover a wide range of high-quality, inclusive products designed to support gender expression – far beyond the mention of the fufu clip alone. Our original coverage did not adequately reflect this scope.

ETO sincerely apologises for this oversight. Our aim is always to represent the adult retail community with accuracy, sensitivity, and respect. We are reviewing our editorial processes to ensure that such misrepresentation does not occur again in the future.

Be A Lady UK: Elevating the crossdressing experience with confidence and care

Inaccuracies in our story “Truly Trans-Friendly” in the May/June edition of ETO were brought to our attention by Trish Murray, owner of Nice ‘n’ Naughty and Be A Lady UK. The following is a rewritten version of that story, which more accurately reflects Trish’s stores’ contribution to the community.

In a world where authenticity and self-expression are finally being celebrated, discussions around gender identity and sexuality are at the forefront of conversation not only in industry, but in everyday life. Though there is one topic that still seems to remain somewhat taboo amongst these talks: crossdressing.

First, let’s brush up on some basic terms.

Transgender

An individual who identifies as the opposite sex to the one they were assigned at birth. For example, an individual born male who later transitions and identifies as a female.

Non-Binary

An individual who feels their gender cannot be defined within the margins of gender binary.

Transvestite/Crossdresser

An individual who wears clothing typically associated with another gender. (Note: The older term “transvestite” is still used in some communities but may be considered outdated or offensive.)

Despite the ever-growing acceptance we have for those who choose to express their gender and sexuality in alternate ways to ourselves, both in the media and society, crossdressing is still sorely misunderstood and still seen by many as “wrong” or “taboo”. OK, yes, part of the enjoyment of dressing can actually be the taboo and we’re not here to ruin the fun! However, a few years ago it became obvious to one business-owner that this particular market wasn’t getting the kind of recognition and support it needed.

Trish Murray, director of Nice ‘n’ Naughty, decided to take steps to create a specialised business dedicated purely to those who – although identifying completely as male – enjoy feeling feminine and free, even if it is just behind closed doors. Be A Lady UK is a purpose-built facility based in Warrington town centre in a discreet but central location, providing services such as storage, dry cleaning, makeovers, make-up tuition, personal styling, dressing, photoshoots and chaperoning.

Featuring three unique creative spaces for photoshoots and dressing, a dedicated dressing room and shower facilities, Be A Lady UK is the ideal space for both new and experienced crossdressers to explore their femme side in a safe space surrounded by women with more than 25 years’ experience in the sex industry and, collectively, more than 100 years of being ladies!

“Straight guys that want to explore their gender and sexuality make up the vast majority of our clients at BAL,” Trish explains. “A lot of them want to look like the sort of women that they find attractive, and that covers a lot of ground from demure and girly, to the more sultry and slutty look.”

While many clients at Be A Lady UK are exploring femininity as part of their own personal expression, others approach it from a kink/fetish perspective. “Sissy clients have a very different agenda to those mentioned previously,” Trish said, “They want to feel femme too, but vulnerable: ‘forced’ into femininity, ‘forced’ into bisexuality and subjected to ‘forced’ humiliation. The most common depiction of this is OTT frocks, lots of ribbons and frills, bows and, more often than not, an obscene amount of pink!”

The question most people ask in connection to transvestism and feminisation is simply: “Why?” Why is it that men feel this overwhelming need to be feminised? Trish offers some perspective on this. “Passivity,” she says. “It’s a comfort. Sissydom is an escape from responsibility into submissiveness.” She continues: “I’ve over 25 years’ experience in crossdressing with Nice ‘n’ Naughty (now in Chester and Warrington), and I’ve seen how much dressing means to some men. We’ve adapted our approach and understanding to our loyal clientele, building trust and rapport that cannot be built through anything other than true acceptance and open mindedness – which is what our industry is, and should be, all about.”

The relationship between Be A Lady UK and Nice ‘n’ Naughty extends far beyond a shared director – it represents a long-standing commitment to understanding and serving an often-overlooked community. While Be A Lady UK offers the physical and emotional space for transformation, Nice ‘n’ Naughty supports the experience with a carefully curated selection of inclusive products tailored for the crossdressing and the wider LGBTQIA+ communities.

“We provide a range of products, all designed with the needs of crossdressers and gender-nonconforming individuals in mind.” Trish told us. “We’re expanding our wholesale offerings in the UK to ensure retailers can meet demand with dignity and discretion. Our Be A Lady product range champions authenticity, choice and quality at an affordable cost for both companies and consumers.” The BAL collection offers an extensive range of high-quality feminisation products, each designed to support and enhance gender expression with comfort, realism, and discretion. From lifelike breast plates in various sizes and styles to ultra-realistic bra inserts and vulva pants, every item in the line caters to the diverse needs of crossdressers, trans women, and gender-nonconforming individuals. The range also includes shapewear, as well as a specialised selection of chastity including belts, cages, and one of the most in-demand innovations: the fufu clip.

The fufu clip is a feminisation accessory designed to position the penis and scrotum in a way that creates the appearance of a smooth, feminine contour – offering the look of a neatly tucked, natural vulva without the discomfort or hassle of excessive tape. Unlike traditional tucking methods, which can be time-consuming, uncomfortable, and even damaging with prolonged use, the fufu clip provides a safe, reusable, and more breathable solution. It’s especially ideal for those already wearing shapewear or layered outfits, where additional materials can quickly become hot and restrictive. Compact, discreet, and easy to use, the fufu clip is becoming a go-to item for those seeking both aesthetic transformation and playful kink exploration!

Celebrating choice, confidence and community

Whether someone is stepping into heels for the very first time or refining their femme look with practiced ease, Be A Lady UK and Nice ‘n’ Naughty are leading the way in creating a world where gender exploration is met with dignity, not judgement. Through personalised services, inclusive products, and unwavering support, they remind us that every person deserves to feel seen, celebrated and empowered to express who they truly are – no matter how, when, or why they choose to do it. With Be A Lady UK, it’s not just about dressing up – it’s about showing up as your most authentic self.
