Lelo’s oral sex simulator Ora has won the A’ Design Awards Platinum Trophy, the highest honour given at the awards, which were held this year on April 12th in Como, Italy. Chosen by a panel of academic and professional experts, A’ Design Award-winners are picked for achieving an exemplary level of perfection in areas such as innovation, usability, presentation and ergonomics. Other Award-winners this year included submissions from Nike, Vodafone, Speedo and Bridgestone. Lelo’s Ora massager received its Platinum Trophy in the Adult Toys and Products Design category.
Lelo CEO Miroslav Slavic said: “Many thanks to A’ Design and all of the judges for bestowing such a great honour on our Ora personal massager. It is awards like this and all of the overwhelmingly positive feedback we’ve received from customers that further confirm just how amazing Ora is, and how totally unique it is from every pleasure product on the market today.”
Ora was launched in January this year, and its demonstration video notched up 400,000 views on YouTube in less than four weeks. It works by combining vibrations with swirling and flicking movements from a rotating ‘nub’ concealed underneath a layer of silicone.
Ora’s Italian success is Lelo’s third mainstream design award in three years, after having won the Red Dot Design award in 2012 and 2013, and the company is shortly kicking off its own design project – the second annual Lelo Design Awards, which will challenge inventors, creatives and designers of every type to present new concepts in sharing and experiencing pleasure and sensual connection.
