Adult industry cycling club Porn Pedallers held a launch party at East London cycle bar and café Look Mum No Hands! on June 20th, where it unveiled its new kit and roster of sponsors. The club enjoyed widespread mainstream press coverage in March this year after British Cycling, the sport’s governing body, revoked Porn Pedallers membership over fears the club’s name might damage the sport’s image – despite the club annually raising five figure sums for charities and identifying as PPCC in public situations where its name might be inappropriate.
The coverage helped raise the club’s profile and seen it connect with the mainstream cycling industry as evidenced by its hook-up with cycling apparel brand, Le Col, founded by ex-pro cyclist Yanto Barker, which has reenvisaged the club’s kit for the 2019 season.
Returning sponsors include broadcaster Television X HD, age verification specialists VeriMe, AVYourself and Age Checked, Platinum Lace Gentlemen’s Clubs, camming platform BabeStationCams and content producer Pascal’s Sub Sluts. Fresh support comes from escort directory AdultWork.com, Doxy, London fetish party organiser Future Parties, and catch-up app Zaucey.com
2019 also sees PPCC reaffirm its commitment to fundraising for HIV and sexual health charity Terrence Higgins Trust. Club founder Chris Ratcliff is committed to protecting the health and welfare of performers within the adult industry, fighting the stigma associated with HIV, and promoting a safe sex message to the public at large.
“The awareness raising and fundraising that Chris and the team are doing makes such a huge difference to people living with and affected by HIV,” said India Turner-Lees, head of community and events fundraising at Terrence Higgins Trust. “The money raised will help us deliver vital services to help us end the HIV epidemic, improve sexual health, and empower people to live well with HIV. We’re delighted that the Porn Pedallers’ Cycling Club have decided to support us again and we’re wishing them the best of luck in all of their rides this year!”
July will see the club embark on an epic ride down the west coast of France. The #AtlanticStreak will see six club members, including porn star Tindra Frost, bikepack 900+ miles from Roscoff in Brittany, France, to Santander, Northern Spain, over nine days unsupported.
