The popularity of shows House of the Dragon and The Rings of Power is resulting in more people fantasising about fantasy sex, according to Bedbible, which says data from Google Trends has revealed that searches for ‘dragon sex’ were up by almost 50% following the two epics’ premieres at the end of August.
The sex toy website has also recorded record sales for fantasy-themed sex toys in line with the new trending search – up a whopping 1320% from the previous month, so the recent Lava Demon release from XR Brands [pictured] should do well.
“Whilst ‘dragon sex’ is nothing new to more experimental couples, the term has grown exponentially in popularity following the start of promotions for the two TV shows,” said a Bedbible spokesperson. “Usually sitting an average of 40-50 searches per day, ‘dragon sex’ had almost doubled to 100 searches per day, as of the end of August. As the weather starts to cool off, it seems that more people are looking to bring the heat into their bedrooms instead. Lord of the Rings roleplay may not be for everyone, but it’s certainly on the rise for those looking to spice up their sex lives.”
