Apollo Wholesale has significantly enhanced its drop-shipping service – by making it free, a move which the firm expects to “revolutionise” the way retailers use the facility.
Drop-shipping allows small – and large – businesses to offer their customers a huge range of items in catalogues and websites for next day delivery but without being required to hold stock as when orders are placed the items are despatched direct from the drop-shipping company.
“We have been looking at the way we offer our drop-shipping service to our customers for the last few months,” said Tony Gonzalez, MD of Apollo Wholesale. “We have worked hard to improve the service that we offer and by allowing Apollo customers to use the drop-shipping service free, we are sure to increase the number of retailers who take advantage of this great business option.”
The service will have two options, a non-personalised service that will have Apollo’s contact details printed on the sheet that is sent out to the consumer and a personalised service that will have the retailer’s contact details and logo on all paperwork that is sent out with each order. There is a one-off set-up fee of £5 for each account that is registered with Apollo for the personalised drop-ship service. Postal rates are charged at £3.50 for all items that weigh less than 1kg and £6.95 for all items that are over this weight or for a guaranteed next day service.
“This has to be the biggest single change that we have made to our drop-shipping service since it was launched,” enthused Susan Harris, Wholesale Manager of Apollo. “It has been a great service and we know that we will gain new customers by changing the way we do business.”
