The organisers of October’s SxTech EU conference have described the event’s keynote speech, given by Dominatrix Countess Diamond, as “mindblowing”.
The event took place on the 25th of October at Ahoy! Berlin.
“Countess Diamond, a revered figure within the BDSM community, captured the intrigue of all attendees during her keynote speech, with her frank and insightful presentation regarding how sex work and technology interact right now, and how she predicts they will interact into the future,” said a SxTech EU spokesperson. “With years of experience trying every gadget, platform, and technology available in her work as a professional Dominatrix, Countess was able to share nuanced and personalized guidance on the future of the new sextech space.”
The speech, titled ‘Tech Domme Talks: Sex Tech For Sex Workers’, explained how Countess uses tech in her job, and included: the unexpected ways she uses ‘vanilla’ technology as a Dominatrix with her clients, why some sex workers are not using sextech, and what sex workers REALLY need from sextech. She also touched on her current long-term project with the UK’s Sex Workers’ Union, to have an impartial legal witness on every porn set.
“The speech was a combination of both inspiration and information for sex tech giants to consider and provided valuable insights into the latest trends and developments,” the spokesperson added. “Countess’s ability to use real-world examples captured the attention of all attendees and gave each and every person something to take away and consider, for both developers and sex workers.”
Countess Diamond commented: “Seeing the positive reaction and thought-provoking questions from the audience is incredible. Although I’m very close to this subject, I rarely discuss it in a public forum so I didn’t know what to expect. But the reception has me itching to speak more on sextech and its potential for sex work. It’s heartwarming to know that people are as passionate about this topic as I am, and I hope that I have inspired some tech giants to consider sex workers a little more when creating new technology.”
