Ann Summers has shuffled its senior management team, with Jacqueline Gold moving from CEO to the position of executive chair. She has been replaced by Vanessa Gold, her sister, who was formerly joint managing director of the retail group with Maria Hollins, who will now be sole managing director.
Jacqueline Gold will continue to be the public face of the Ann Summers business – which she has been for two decades – and she will also work closely on the company’s strategy in her new role. She commented: “Maria has done a phenomenal job in driving the turnaround of the business and she fully deserves her promotion to sole MD of the business. She has an incredible commitment to Ann Summers, and I am sure will do a tremendous job in her new role.
“Vanessa and I remain as committed to Ann Summers as ever and, as we leave the worst of the pandemic behind us and look to the future, we are excited to be working with Maria to take the business to the next level.”
The company recently reported that its sales for the year up to June 2021 were up 9.3% to £113.8m.
