CalExotics founder and CEO Susan Colvin had two reasons to celebrate at last week’s ANME: not only was she inducted into the Storerotica Hall of Fame, CalExotics was named Pleasure Products Company of the Year by the US trade magazine.

Susan became the first woman founder of an adult novelty company in 1994 and her vision was to create a brand that brought more colour to the market and was inclusive for people of all sexual preferences and orientations.
Her success also led to more women entering the industry: “When I started CalExotics, my goal was to bring more women into adult stores and the business, but I never dreamed it would evolve into what we see today,” she added. “As I look around, I feel very proud of the entire makeup of this industry. We have such a large percentage of powerful women in the business, and I am honoured to have helped pave the way for this.”
