Ann Summers seeks erotic authors

To mark the February release of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, Ann Summers has launched an erotic fiction writing competition. The winner is unlikely to be as successful as EL James but the first prize is £1,000 cash and there are two runners-up prizes of £500, along with a selection of Ann Summers goodies. The three winning stories will be showcased on the Ann Summers website.

The company said: “Ann Summers’ mission is to make women feel sexy, fearless and confident, so we’re reversing the role. We want to hear what happens when women take charge. That’s your theme… we can’t wait to see where you take it.”

The judges will be: Ann Summers CEO Jacqueline Gold; Emma Sayle who launched adult party brand Killing Kittens in 2005 and published her memoir, Behind the Mask, last year; and Emily Dubberley, the author and journalist who founded Cliterati.co.uk in 2001. Emily was also editor of erotic magazine Scarlet and has published 29 books. She also writes a monthly column in ETO.

If you’d like to have a go, entries should be between 750 – 1,000 words. The competition closes on 23rd January 2015 and the winners will be announced on 30th January 2015. Visit http://www.annsummers.com/page/erotic-fiction-writing-competition for more details.
