Ultimo celebrates 13th anniversary

Michelle Mone OBE, the founder of classy lingerie brand, Ultimo, has a lot to celebrate after her 13 years of success in the international lingerie market. This hard working and determined Scot left school at the age of 15 with no qualifications in order to help support her family and quickly progressed to become sales and marketing manager at only 20-years-old.

Mone founded her lingerie business, MJM International, in 1996, with the intention of inventing a more comfortable cleavage-enhancing bra. Four years later, one of these bras was subsequently worn by actress Julia Roberts in the film Erin Brockovich, drawing valuable attention for the brand and beginning a long line of celebrity endorsements, which over the years have included, popular beauties, Kelly Brook, Rachel Hunter, Helena Christensen, Sarah Harding and Mel B, among others.

MJM International has since expanded to include a multitude of brands: the Ultimo Miracle Shapewear, Ultimo Swimwear, Miss Ultimo and partner lines for Tesco, George and Debenhams. The Ultimo brand also features a range of worldwide-patented inventions including the Ultimo Miracle backless body.

The anniversary celebration coincides nicely with the launch of the brand’s new campaign featuring Spanish FHM sweetheart, Lusiana Lopilato, pictured above, although apparently Mrs Bublé took some convincing; “I spotted Lusiana in her wedding pictures and I knew I had to have her for Ultimo,” said Mone. “It took me a long time but I refused to give up”.
