Shots Media staged its Sales Week event and party in July, which coincided with the Nijmegen Four Day Marches. The distributor usually raises money for charity during the event but this year, instead of donating the amount raised to a single charity, Shots established the Shots Charity Foundation with the idea of supporting smaller charities without big overheads which solely work with volunteers.
This year Shots, the Shots party sponsors and the party attendees raised an impressive €14,029.40, which will be divided between three charities. The first charity chosen to receive a third of the donations is De Liedjesfabriek (The Song factory), which gives sick children a positive distraction through music and songwriting. Apart from working in hospitals, De Liedjesfabriek wants to go and visit children who are being taken care of at home and to do this it needs a bus which will be converted into a mobile recording studio. The other two chosen charities will be announced soon.
