Apple’s App Store is notoriously strict when it comes to adult content but users will now be able to download The Sex Directory UK – the first app of its kind to be approved by the corporation. The app allows users to search their current location for sex shops, lingerie stores and lap dancing clubs, plus there are categories for dating firms and the intriguingly-named Extras (in reality, adult businesses which do not fit into the other categories).
Users can also search by town name and they can access a Google map of any attraction they would like to visit. The Sex Directory UK co-owner Rebekha D`Stephano said: “We knew it would be a challenge given Apple`s stringent guidelines but we have worked hard with their compliance team to produce an app that not only looks great but gives the customers access to the information they are looking for.”
Developed by The App People, the venture has attracted advertisers such as Private Shops, the UK’s largest chain of licensed sex shops. Private Shops’ Graham Burns said: “The Sex Directory UK brings a fresh and modern advertising opportunity, as the only adult entertainment directory to be approved by Apple we were keen for our shops to be listed.”
The Sex Directory UK can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store and Google Play by searching for The Sex Directory UK. It is also available as a mobile responsive website – www.thesexd.co.uk – which includes additional sections for massage parlours, escorts and sex parties.
