Another Big Issue lady up the road from Ann Summers got me twice, once on the way to Nitelife and once on the way back. It’s in a side road, opposite a church, and was an easy find thanks to very pink paintwork.
To avoid overpowering visitors, the inside was a little more muted with blue carpet - but the giant stiletto shoe seat by the door was still pink. Shoes (and boots) are major lines for this business, with delicious offerings from many well known fetish names, including Tony and Anthony shoes. I got a bright hello from the lady manager as I drooled over a pair of £65 Luscious brand stripper shoes with casino chips and dice in the transparent platform. Fetch me a pole!
Beyond footwear, I saw lots of Leg Avenue lingerie, hosiery (£8 fencenet stockings) and playwear, including something a Little-Bo-Peepy for a very reasonable £45.
With changing rooms at the rear, polite chat about what I was looking for, and a brochure pressed into my hands before I left, I was mightily impressed by this shop. Only its limited, niche appeal and Aberdeen’s monstrous parking restrictions stops it getting a full five stars, but it got close. Friendly atmosphere, attention to display basics like lighting and clear pricing all got two thumbs up from me.
