Planet Earth CEO tackles Florida Iron Man

Planet Earth CEO Paul Boote is competing in the Florida Iron Man on the 5th of November, 2011. Paul, a founder member of The Prostate Cancer Charity, will be making a personal donation to prostate cancer but all outside donations are welcome on Paul’s web page – http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PaulBoote1

Speaking about his choice of charity, Paul said: “The sexual health industry is far more aware of conditions like prostate cancer than a lot of organisations. We come into contact with people who have had experiences of this disease on a weekly basis and I hope that my contribution to the cause can help raise awareness so that fewer people suffer from this life-changing disease.”

This will be Paul’s second long distance event of 2011, having previously competed in a half distance Iron Man challenge in Barcelona during which he registered a time of 6 hours and 17minutes. The Florida event is a full Iron Man event and will consist of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride and then a 26.2 mile run.

Iron Man competitions are held throughout the world in a list of countries that includes the US, Australia, Germany and South Africa. The next official Iron Man event following Florida will be held in Arizona on the 20th November 2011. More information on the Iron Man competition can be found at www.ironman.com
