Lovehoney founder picks up Bath Chronicle award

Lovehoney’s Richard Longhurst [pictured, right, with Lovehoney co-founder Neal Slateford] has been named as Business Person of the Year by regional newspaper The Bath Chronicle. The publication said of Longhurst: “He founded adult goods firm Lovehoney in his bedroom on a budget of just £9,000 – it now turns over £13 million. Having all but conquered the UK market, the sex toys and sexual happiness business now has its sights on the United States, Australia and mainland Europe. With a firm emphasis on customer service, the company now has 65 on its payroll, and deals with 11,000 orders a week.”

Lovehoney was one of three runners-up in the newspaper’s Business of the Year category, which was won by Rotork, a company which specialises in flow control engineering.
