Lovehoney expansion continues

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Iain Duncan Smith, will be delighted to hear that Lovehoney is making his life easier by creating more jobs at its Bath HQ. The firm, which has already doubled its staff in the last two years, is currently recruiting for an additional 12 positions and when the process is complete it will employ over 100 people.

“We need more staff in all areas of the business to maintain our strong growth online and in B2B sales,” said Lovehoney co-founder Richard Longhurst. “In 2012 we secured the global licence to manufacture and distribute Fifty Shades of Grey products which gives us massive opportunities around the globe.”

The new positions include three programmers for its development team. Longhurst explained: “Tablet computers and smartphones have changed the way that people use the internet so we are expanding our team to develop websites and applications targeting users of these platforms.”

In addition to being a successful online retailer, Lovehoney develops its own products and has more than 300 sex toys and bondage items in its own-label ranges, including the official Fifty Shades of Grey Pleasure Collection and the Swoon range, which is currently available in Boots. A product development manager and quality assurance manager are being sought to help expand the range. Other opportunities in the company include business analysts in the ecommerce team, online marketing and positions in the buying team plus multilingual customer care staff.
