Erotica swings into town

The organisers of this month’s Erotica exhibition at London’s Olympia have teamed up with SDC.com and introduced a dedicated Swingers Zone, which will feature daily seminars from sex therapist Dr Ziggy and live entertainment in the ‘closed door policy’ Pilla Hall bar.

“SDC is the biggest swinging network in the world with more than two million subscribers so it made sense for us to team up with them,” said Erotica Sales and Marketing Manager Jason Dante. “Swinging has recently been brought into the mainstream press with articles in national newspapers and magazines, so tapping into the readers who know very little about swinging and may be curious about it, as well as the two million already subscribed, should hopefully result in more footfall.”

The live entertainment on the main stage area will once again be hosted by Torture Garden.

Erotica will also have a trade lounge this year, and trade visitors can benefit from a separate fast-track entrance.

The economic climate of the last 12 months has had a negative impact on exhibitions in all areas so the organisers have increased the show’s marketing budget by 25% for 2009, and Erotica’s retained PR agency EdenCancan will be feeding the press stories about the event in an attempt to gain further coverage.

Around 140 exhibitors are expected to be at this year’s show including Creative Conceptions, E-Stim Systems, FairyGothMother, LoveHoney, McCoy’s Guides, Monkey Spanker, Nitelife, Playful Promises, Sextoys.co.uk, Tenga, That Sex Shop and Xcite Books.

Erotica 2009 takes place at the Grand Hall, Olympia, London. The trade section will run from November 20th – 21st and the public show runs from November 20th – 22nd. The opening hours are 12.00 noon – 10.00pm on the Friday and Saturday and 12.00 noon – 8.00pm on the Sunday (public show only). Ticket prices are £20 (for admission on Friday or Sunday) and £25 (for admission on Saturday). For further details visit www.erotica2009.com
