“Fifty Shades of Grey” author E.L. James talked about her intentions for her next book at a media event in New York last Monday.
Many fans are eager for a fourth book in the popular series, which has sold more than 30 million copies in the U.S. and more than 10 million in the U.K. The author, however, said she is in the process of rewriting her first attempt at an erotic fiction novel. “It’s still in my head. I want it out of my head. I want it gone,” said James, adding that it is an “erotic tale”, which is “more fun” than the “50 Shades” trilogy.
James also hinted at plans to write a supernatural love story; “”I also have another thing, which isn’t an erotic tale, “James said. “It’s more of a paranormal romance, which I’d really like to do as well.”
When asked about a fourth “Shades” book, James said that she felt she had finished the tale in a positive way by the end of the third book, saying “I left them in a really, really good place. But there seems to be lots of people clamouring for a fourth book in the trilogy.” However, rather than rule the possibility out, she added, “we’ll see.”
