Industry alumni Doc Johnson has continued its streak of mainstream media coverage with a feature article in the current issue of Women’s Health, which reached US newsstands last week. The article is the latest in a string of recent coverage for the company, which includes a full length feature video on Buzzfeed called How Sex Toys are Made, an interview in Forbes, and a product spotlight in Cosmopolitan, which named Doc Johnson’s Tryst Sex Toy of the Month. The piece takes senior health editor Faye Brennan on a tour inside Doc Johnson’s sex toy factory.
“It’s exciting to receive coverage from a publication as visible and influential as Women’s Health,” said Doc Johnson COO/CCO Chad Braverman. “As a company that has kept most manufacturing in the US since 1976 – unlike a lot of others that only began exploring better practices a few years ago, when labour outsourcing became a hot-button issue – we are also very proud of the fact that Women’s Health chose Doc Johnson to represent the face of American pleasure products manufacturing. It’s a constant goal of ours to introduce our brand to the mainstream masses, and gaining this level of media exposure, in a publication that attracts millions of readers, is a home run for us.”
Scott Watkins, VP of sales and marketing added: “Women’s Health reaches millions of readers every month. The top-tier media coverage Doc Johnson has been receiving in the past several months has exponentially increased our website traffic—and retailers should prepare for increased demand of Doc Johnson products featured in the Women’s Health article (including our OptiMALE Rechargeable Vibrating C-Ring, and Doc Johnson’s selection of anal trainer kits) as this issue hits newsstands across the country.”
