Coquette unveils 2014 Darque collection

Coquette has officially unveiled its 2014 Darque collection, a catalogue that has been redesigned for the firm’s 35th anniversary year. Coquette says this is the first time the company has introduced a line to be marketed as outerwear in its images. The newly designed book has been laid out and presented to show the versatility in each of the pieces and how they can be cross merchandised with outerwear.

“We have included some designs that offer [several] looks in one,” said senior designer Elaine Carson. “For instance, one of our new bustiers has a removable peplum that offers three distinct looks – a crop top, full piece with the peplum, or wearing the removable piece lower over the hips over a skirt or leggings.”

Darque – clubwear with a playful fetish flare – has a predominantly wet look finish and Coquette says that with the popularity of this material in the fashion industry over the last few years, Darque has become more mainstream and fashion forward. And the 2014 book shows this trend is set to continue.

“This year we wanted to show our customers all the ways Coquette Darque’s line can be incorporated into different looks in a trendy way,” said Coquette’s vice president of sales and marketing Marcus Horea. “You can still see the lingerie inspiration in all of the looks, but many have been shown as clubwear or stylised with everyday clothing.”

The complete 2014 collection can be seen at www.coquette.com/collections and retailers can expect to take delivery of the new lines by August.
