Beate Uhse sells Scala Playhouse and Christine le Duc

Beate Uhse has issued a statement announcing that it is selling its Dutch subsidiaries, including the wholesaler Scala Playhouse and theChristine le Duc retail stores, in two separate deals. Existing staff will be retained by the new owners which are, respectively, a Dutch group of companies and a subsidiary of an Irish investor group.

The transactions are believed to have raised €4.05 million for Beate Uhse and the company will now focus on its core brands and the B2C area. New appointments have been made to assist with this. Beate Uhse CEO Michael Specht said in the announcement: “We are concentrating on the values and strengths that are firmly embedded in the core brands of Beate Uhse. With this focus, we are focusing the exclusive focus on the B2C market players with shops and e-commerce.”
