Adult Mags To Go Public

Porn has hit the stock market for the first time.

The group of adult titles formerly owned by Richard Desmond was listed on the Plus-quoted Market on 20th February following Interactive Publishing Plc’s acquisition of Trojan Publishing. Trojan has a range of 38 magazines and Interactive was looking to raise £500,000 net of expenses to enable it to further expand its portfolio.

Interactive, which was formed in October 2007, is the first adult magazine publisher to float on the stock market.

Trojan Publishing was formed in June 2006, and almost immediately acquired the intellectual property rights to 12 men’s lifestyle and adult magazines and the assignment of the Penthouse Media Group licence. Later that year it acquired Fresh, Vitality Publishing – publishers of Your Personal Trainer For Women, since renamed Woman’s Fitness – and Diesel Car, since renamed what Diesel, from Goodfellas. In 2007 it purchased the intellectual property rights for the adult titles previously published by Fantasy Publications, including Asian Babes, and entered into licence agreements for online poker magazine Flush and The League, a magazine devoted to football. It rounded the year off with the purchase of adult title Desire.

Interactive Publishing is headed by Chief Executive Justin Sanders, Non-executive Chairman Peter Jay and Finance Director Roy Quiddington.
